Project Overview

We developed an AI Emotion Detection Vending Machine activation for Seagate, designed to demonstrate the power of real-time AI processing while delivering a highly engaging attendee experience.

Impact

The AI-powered vending machine created a highly memorable interactive attraction, drawing strong attendee participation throughout the event.

By using emotion-based interaction instead of traditional button inputs, the system introduced a playful and futuristic way for participants to engage with AI technology.

The activation not only demonstrated real-time AI analytics and high-speed data processing, but also increased booth traffic, social interaction, and engagement time helping position Seagate as a leader in cutting-edge data and AI infrastructure.

What We Build

Core Platforms
Custom-Trained Emotion Detection Model: A machine learning model trained to detect and classify multiple facial emotions in real time using live camera input.
AI Emotion Recognition Engine: A computer vision system capable of identifying a wide range of facial expressions, enabling dynamic interaction between participants and the vending machine.

Interactive Experiences
Emotion-Based Gameplay Interaction: Participants were challenged to express specific emotions in front of the machine to trigger gameplay responses and unlock prizes.
Custom Trivia Game Programming:
An integrated trivia game experience added an additional interactive layer, encouraging knowledge-based participation alongside AI engagement.

Social & Connectivity Layer
Live Emotion Detection Display: A real-time visual interface displayed the emotions detected by the AI system, allowing participants and nearby audiences to see the analysis instantly creating a dynamic and engaging crowd moment around the activation.
Data Processing & Performance Showcase: The system highlighted Seagate’s high-speed data capabilities by processing facial recognition and emotion detection in real time, demonstrating powerful AI computation directly at the booth.
